'GlobeRiders' Motorcyclists Travel 8,000 Miles Along the Historic Silk Road

Harrington Park, NJ (PRWEB) February 2, 2008 -- Janson Media today announced the release to worldwide television, VOD, DVD/video and new media markets of GLOBERIDERS SILK ROAD ADVENTURE. The amazing adventure follows a group of motorcyclists who ride from Istanbul, Turkey to Xian, China, along the historic and fabled Silk Road. The riders travel 8,000 miles through eight different countries, crossing the vast deserts, high mountain passes and the crowded, bustling cities of Central Asia. Along the way the team struggles against dangerous riding conditions, mechanical breakdowns and political troubles, experiencing a part of the world seldom seen by Western travelers.

In the first episode of GLOBERIDERS SILK ROAD ADVENTURE, 18 motorcyclists leave the West behind and begin their journey on the Silk Road from Istanbul. They visit a pottery workshop in Ancient Nicea, a bazaar in Bursa, and experience a stay at an old caravanserai, or "camel motel," in the village of Safranbolu. The second episode brings the riders through Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. There, the riders are able to participate in the Tolkuchka Oriental Bazaar, one of the most vibrant and largest open markets in Central Asia and the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with the Silk Road's most famous beasts of burden -- at the Camel Market. In the third episode, the team rides across Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. In the final episode, after more than a month of motorcycling across Central Asia, the GlobeRiders cross the Korghass Pass and arrive in western China and head across the Gobi Desert. The team visits the western part of the Great Wall and Xian's army of Terra cotta warriors.

GLOBERIDERS SILK ROAD ADVENTURE (4 x 60') was produced by GlobeRiders/World Wide HD Productions, and is the winner of a 2007 HDFest "Deffie" Award for best director of an HD documentary. It is now available to television, VOD, DVD/video, and new media markets worldwide exclusively through Janson Media.
